NATIONAL PATIENTS’ SECTION

Pre-admission is necessary in case of :

  • Scheduled hospitalization
  • Surgical procedure in hospital

To do this, you just need to come to the hospital before the day of the hospitalization or surgery to create the file with the admissions office.

The latter includes the question of whether or not part of the costs will be covered by the Health Insurance and the preparation of the patient’s medical record.

This pre-admission will simplify your arrival on D day and will enable you to be directed directly to the department concerned.

Before you are admitted to the hospital, you can ask for an estimate for all the procedures prescribed by your doctor. It should be noted, however, that the amount mentioned on the estimate may vary according to the evolution of your health status.

*The Mohammed VI International University Hospital ensures the reimbursement of hospitalization and care costs by the main paying agencies: CNOPS ( The Moroccan Health Insurance Fund)), CNSS (Moroccan Social security agency), private insurance companies, or others.

Papers constituting a health insurance coverage :

  • A confidential envelope provided by the doctor (containing the patient’s first and last name, the illness requiring hospitalization, the diagnosis justifying the intervention, the scheduled date, the expected duration of hospitalization and the exact nature of the necessary procedures and examinations with their quotation).
  • • Copy of the member’s ID card (front and back) ;
  • • Copy of both sides of the identity card, if the beneficiary is different (wife, child);
  • Copy of the mutual insurance card, registration card or membership card on both sides.
  • Copy of a guardian’s identity card in case the patient is a minor.
  • Diagnostic elements (for example, an ECG copy for coronary angiography, a biological assessment for dialysis, etc.).
What administrative documents should I provide for pre-admission or admission?

For most patients :

  • Your doctor’s prescription or a hospital note provided by the doctor;
  • Copy of the patient’s National Identity Card;

  • Medical documents, biological and radiological examinations, medical reports.

For special cases :

  • Hospitalization of a minor :

The minor must be accompanied by the father, mother, or legal guardian with the following documents :

– Family booklet

– Identity document of the person with parental authority or proof of custody and parental authority

  • National of a foreign country

– Health insurance card

– Private health insurance coverage, with the period of validity and the benefits covered

– Prior request to the relevant medical department of the hospital for an estimate of the cost of the stay and payment of a deposit before the day of hospitalization in order to obtain a proof of payment to be produced before the treatment

  • In case of chronic/long term illness (LTI):

Please note that only stays related to a chronic long-term illness are covered

  • Beneficiary of an education allowance for a disabled child :

– Form or letter attesting to the care of the disabled child

  • Pregnant women :

– Maternity follow-up file

What medical documents should I bring for hospitalization?

These documents depend on each patient. In general, they are requested at the time of the appointment :

  • Letter from attending physician
  • X-rays and test results
  • Current medical prescriptions
  • Health booklet
  • Maternity booklet
  • Blood type card
  • Other documents potentially.
Your Hospitalization

A welcome booklet presenting these services will be given to you when you are admitted to the hospital.

  • Your clothes: When you arrive, a nurse will help you change your clothes and place them in the wardrobe in your room. Pajamas will be provided by the Hospital throughout your stay.

You can also bring comfortable clothes for your stay (pajamas, dressing gown, slippers, etc.). Bed and table linen is provided and maintained by the hospital.

If you wish to wash your clothes, a laundry room located in the basement is at your disposal. Please note that this service is not free of charge and will be included in your bill.

  • Your daily care : Toiletries (shampoo, soap, shower gel, etc.) are provided by the hospital and are always available in your bathroom. If you are in difficulty, a nurse will help you with your daily care.
  • Accompanying person : Patients who wish to do so may request, either at the time of their admission or in the department, that a relative or loved lone stay with them during their stay in the Hospital Whenever possible in the hospitalization department or within the hospital, a bed may be provided, as well as meals. Accompanying persons will be asked not to interfere with the care of the patient, not to expose him/her to a contagious disease and not to disturb the rest of the other patients.

These services are invoiced on the basis of a flat rate. In the case of the accompaniment of a patient at the end of his or her life or of a person with a severe disability, the provision of a bed in the patient’s room is always free. However, meals are paid for by the accompanying person.

  • Your valuables : Avoid taking valuables with you. . If you have to do so, you can resort to :

The hospital’s central safe : any valuables and cash that you need to keep with you must be deposited in the hospital’s central safe on arrival. If you fail to do this, the hospital cannot be held responsible for any loss or disappearance.

  • Your identification bracelet : For your security, Mohammed VI International University Hospital has provided you with a bracelet that will be given to you when you are admitted to the hospital. This bracelet serves as your identity card when you move around the hospital and allows any person involved in your care to ensure your identification. In case of loss or illegibility, please contact the staff of the department to get a new bracelet.
  • Your Comfort : For your comfort, all our rooms are equipped with:

Television : Each room in our hospital is equipped with a smart TV with remote control.

Wi-Fi :We know how important it is for you to keep a link with the outside world: your family, your work, your friends… That’s why we offer you a free Wi-Fi solution that allows you to have high-speed Internet access from your room.

Air conditioning : All rooms in the hospital have air conditioning, which can be controlled by the patient using a remote control.

  • Your lost objects : In case of loss of objects, please contact the nursing staff or the reception staff Our teams will do what is necessary to recover your lost objects. If you find an object, please be so kind as to leave it at the main reception desk.
YOUR MEALS

Food service :

Our catering partner ensures that you receive quality food while respecting your nutritional constraints. The menus are prepared by a multidisciplinary team in close collaboration with our dietician and do meet the nutritional recommendations.
In fact, depending on your health status and medical prescriptions, a personalized diet will be set up for you.

– Meal times

The meal times are linked to the organization of the care service.

    • Breakfast: from 07:30 am onwards
    • Lunch: from 12:30 hours onwards
    • Dinner: from 19:30 hours onwards.

– Room Service Hours

The room service is available all day from 06:00 to 22:00 hours. The service is available to patients in standard rooms and VIP suites.

Suites services

In order to satisfy the most demanding patients, the suites department of the Mohammed VI International University Hospital offers services worthy of hotel service in spacious suites with all the necessary amenities for your comfort: fully equipped kitchenettes, an accompanying person’s room, luxurious furniture, free Wi-Fi connection…

Visits to patients are allowed :

For hospitalizations: From 12:30 to 13:30 hours and from 18:30 to 19:30 hours, unless authorized by the medical/healthcare team.

For the Intensive Care Unit : From 12:30 to 13:30 hours and from 18:30 to 19:30 hours, unless authorized by the medical/healthcare team.

Discharge formalities

The date of your discharge is set by your doctor. If you wish to be discharged against medical advice, you or your legal representative must complete and sign a discharge form indicating that you wish to leave the hospital against medical advice and in full knowledge of the risks you are running. For minors, the discharge must be signed by the parents or guardian.

For newborns, a birth notice is established by the medical secretary and validated by the doctor to be given to the family.

To begin the discharge process, the reception secretary will send your medical file to the billing agent to complete the billing process.

If you are not accompanied by a relative, a caregiver will accompany you to complete the paperwork. Once you are declared discharged, a discharge ticket will be given to you or your family.

Before leaving the hospital
  • Make sure you get the necessary documents from the nurse on duty (prescriptions, medical letters, X-rays, hospitalization certificates, blood group cards, anticoagulation cards, appointments, personal medication…).
  • Retrieve any valuables that may have been deposited in the hospital’s central safe.
  • Check that you have not left any personal belongings in your room.
  • Pay any costs you may incur.
  • If necessary, contact the liaison nurse to help you with the discharge process.
